What is Mutual Admiration from the Asylum Department? Good question. Jaki and Lynne met in a writers critique group and discovered a mutual taste for homicidal humor. We're happy to share our MAADness in the form of newsletters to anyone who sends their snail mail address to murraymade@aol.com.

ISSUE #14 - WINTER 2001-02

[photo]   The MAADwomen decided to borrow some headlines from the National Interrogator supermarket tabloid for this issue. We wanted to include Santa's Space Alien Love Nest and Elvis's Dog Speaks, but our fictional heroines protested that they have to actually live through these adventures. They demanded that articles here should have some correlation, no matter how tenuous, to the actual books! Who's writing these books anyway? What's that you say? Hmm, it is true that we couldn't write the books without our sleuths getting in and doing the work. We agreed to confine our tabloid instincts to just the headlines and put in real information about the new books.   [photo]

JO FULLER ASKS: "WHAT KIND OF WINE GOES WITH PORN?"
WILL JOSEPHINE PUT OUT?

...Put out the fires of suspicion that is -- suspicions that threaten to destroy a plus-sized porn star, who seems to Jo to be innocent... well, innocent of murder at any rate.

In A Ton of Trouble, due in summer of 2002, Josephine Fuller arrives in the California Wine Country and manages to fall afoul of a body in a wine barrel and a super-sized adult film starlet who is suspected of putting him there.

Spokes Cat comments: "If there are any fowl in the audience, please come over here to play."

Lynne won't be getting out much till she finishes the manuscript for the fifth Josephine Fuller adventure. Rumor has it that she has handcuffed herself to the computer. But she will be briefly released on her own recognizance for an event on

KATE JASPER GOES UNDERCOVER AT MEN'S GROUP
LAST SEEN BONDING IN MARIN

In the twelfth Kate Jasper mystery, A Sensitive Kind of Murder, due out in January 2002, Kate must be the only woman alive to find a dead body at an all-male support group. But male bonding is fatal at this one. Her husband Wayne's car is the murder weapon. Talk about sensitive issues.

GIRDNER VICTIM OF MULTIPLE PERSONALITY?
OR POSSIBLY AN EVIL TWIN?

Late 2002 will see the publication of Body of Intuition, this book issued from the computer of Jaqueline Girdner, but the pen name is that of her alter ego, or possibly her secret identity Claire Daniels. More about the Claire Daniels side of Jaki's personality, and medical intuitive sleuth Cally Lazar in future issues.

GIRDNER SIGHTED IN MANY PLACES
(NOT ALL AT ONCE)

Jaki will be available to sign copies of A Sensitive Kind of Murder (or any other book you might have -- as long as it's one she wrote -- see list at the bottom of the page!) at several events in early 2002.
