What's New?

Bride of the Living Dead is now available from Pearlsong Press and 2011 will bring the publication of The Falstaff Vampire Files. I'll announce the publication date and events to promote it here and on Twitter and Facebook.

One of the joys of working with a small press is the personal touch and the commitment to keeping the books available for readers, and in 2011 Pearlsong will take that a step further and publish new paperback and ebook editions of the Josephine Fuller mysteries: Larger Than Death, Large Target, At Large and A Ton of Trouble.

With founder Peggy Elam, Ph.D., at the helm, Pearlsong Press connects with readers in some innovative ways including weekly Health at Every Size broadcasts on Radio Free Nashville. I love the super positive music she plays! Peggy also schedules call-in teleconferences called Pearlsong Conversations, where anyone can call in to chat.

We talked about reading and writing fat-friendly fiction in Pearlsong's teleconferences for July and August 2009. We also had a Pearlsong Holiday Conversation in December where everyone got so absorbed in talking about the publishing business that we forgot to drink the virtual eggnog. Here are links to all the MP3 recordings (left-click on them if you want to download the files):
Fat-Friendly Fiction 1
Fat-Friendly Fiction 2
Virtual Holiday Party
Conversation with Pearlsong author Anne Richardson Williams about using art to transcend devastating experiences
Conversation with Pearlsong author Lauri Owen, author of Fallen Embers, a paranormal romance with a big, beautiful heroine

I'm going to participate as much as possible in upcoming Pearlsong Conversations—I'll keep you posted as they happen.
